As a future veterinarian myself, I can tell you this answer.

First, you have to go to college and preferably get a bachelor's degree in zoologyBiology, or animal sciences. This will take four years.

Then, you have to go to one of the around 30 veterinary colleges in the U.S.A. After getting your DVM (doctor of veterinary medicine). You will have completed around 7 years of college.
