Generally, 4 years of college and 3 of law school. I guess there are people we call "judge" like a justice of the peace or something generally in rural areas that don't have the law degree and handle minor disputes.
they go to school for 5 years they have to learn all the other judges do ,wear, and other things
judges are in charge of trials and make sure they are fair they also resolve differences between lawyers they read the law to decide what lawyers can and can't do judges decide wether a case should go to trial they also tell juries about the law to make decisions judges research legal issues also write about their decisions and legal opinons sometimes they ask lawyers or law clerks to help with research if someone is convicted for crime the judge the judge decides wether they go to prison and how long. that's how long they njeed to go to school and learn all that other stuff
College or University - Law School - Engaging in private or corporate practice of the law - (for a non-elected judgeship) involving yourself in politics and community related affairs - (for an elected judgeship) becoming involved in local politics and community activity and then raise money for your campaign........... YOU do the math.
Actually, there is no requirement to go to law school to be a judge. You could be appointed without that. It would make it very difficult in most places though. Law school is three years.
