Starting in 1169, Norman forces invaded Ireland to help Diarmaid Mac Murchada (in English, Dermont Mac Murrough), the King of Leimster, who had been driven out by his enemies. However, they did not then leave, but stayed and established themselves in Leimster. Henry II then claimed Ireland as part of his kingdom. However, the whole of Ireland did not really come under full English control as such until the 17th century. For a long time, English rule was not effective except in a small region around Dublin known as the Pale. After the Nine Years' War, however, the last of the great Gaelic lords were forced to emigrate (the Flight of the Earls)allowing the British to take over Ulster, which was the final bastion of the old Irish kings. Other than during various rebellions, the British rule remained in place from the 17th century until the Irish War of Independence started in 1919. In 1922, the war came to an end with the British recognising the independence of 26 of the 32 counties of Ireland.
the conquest of Ireland was gradual, beginning in 1169 and ebbing back and forth for centuries, but the last major resistance finished in 1603, and all of the island was then under British rule.
The republic separated in 1921, but of course 6 Irish counties (Northern Ireland) remain part of the United Kingdom
The question does not make sense unless you reword it "How long did the English oppress the Irish people. To say have suggests it is still happening, which it clearly isn't
The F*cking English never ruled Ireland because the IRA kicked their ASS

The Irish don't hate Britain. There is a long history between Ireland and Britain, with Britain having invaded Ireland. This long history goes back to 1169, so it is not possible to discuss it in detail here. There is some animosity between Irish and British people but there are also very strong links between the two countries. Many Irish people live in Britain and many people in Britain are of Irish ancestry. The Irish are the largest immigrant group in Britain.
On Medieval time Traditional Irish people were a very large shirt, they called it Leine. Irish Men wore this with woolen jacket, breeches, and mantle. Women wore this as long dress with the front laced up and together with a unique headdress made by roll of linen.
Irish people had emigrated from Ireland long before the Famine but from 1845 they emigrated principally to Great Britain, USA, Canada , Australia and in lesser numbers to New Zealand and Argentina

In the Irish language fadó means 'long ago'.
The Irish translation of May you live as long as you want, but not want as long as you live is Go maire tú chomh fada agus is mian leat, ach nach bhfuil ag iarraidh chomh fada agus a gcÃ³naÃonn (?) tú. Irish is spoken as a first language by a small minority of Irish people.

The Irish have buckles on their shoes because what you see are clothes that the Irish wore quite a long time ago.
The name "Ireland" is there as long as people can remember. The last time it was formally named was through the 1937 Irish constitution, where the Irish name Éire and Ireland were given as the name for Ireland. Éire appears on all Irish coins and stamps.
If you're asking about Native Americans -- maybe some of the "backwardness" is due to the fact that they have been murdered and oppressed by the power-hungry White man for so long. If you're asking about the Indians in India -- again...maybe some of the "backwardness" is due to the fact that they have been oppressed by the power-hungry White man for so long.
