One is strengthened in the knowledge that the persecuted remain true to their faith.

Through persecution we grown stronger if we hold on to what we know to be true. It is not a physical strength but a spiritual strength.and nothing can break that.

Does it matter who or what you have faith in?

Of course it matters who or what you have faith in. You may have faith in a stone, but what will that faith in a stone do? You may have faith in a statue, you may have faith in a God who lives far away in distant skies. What will all this do? What matters is when we have faith in the power, the power of the God that lives in the temple of our heart, when we have faith in God and realize that the kingdom of God is within, when we have faith in that power that makes our heart beat, that faith in the very Soul within makes a difference, because then God is inside of us controlling our life and making us move forward on our spiritual journey till we are liberated and become one with God.

How did Jesus's death strengthen the faith of his followers?

Jesus' death itself didn't particularly strengthen his followers. What really strengthened His followers was Him rising from the grave. As you may know from reading the Bible if you do, some of His followers completely denied that they even knew Him. However, when He came back from the dead, they knew that He was the son of God and King of the Jews so they believed and had faith in Him.

Is the story of Job true?

Yes, it is most definitely true, if you believe in a bet between Lucifer and God which leads to the indiscriminate and ridiculous persecution of an innocent man, who is not compensated by god in any way except for his unyielding one way faith in the very entity that took way his family and wealth. In a rational world it may make no sense but is true.

Will a pilgrimage affect faith?

Not one single bit, in and of itself. God affects faith, and God does it as he chooses. He's free to use pilgrimages, but more often than not God probably considers them nuisances. A pilgrimage may affect emotions or knowledge. Faith is on a different plane altogether.

Can one fall into a specific sin ie sexual sin sex before marrying and not loose ones faith?

For we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. You can't "lose" your faith, you may forget your faith, or doubt your faith, but you can't "lose" your faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. By faith we speak of what we believe with out proof, one's faith, whether in themselves, in God, in their Religion, or whatever aspect they choose to believe is what faith is, not something that can be taken away or lost. Falling into a sin, regardless of the sin, is not a loss in faith, but a stumbling block, we are all human, we make mistakes and we error. God knows that we are human and we will make mistakes, but God is all forgiving, don't doubt your faith because you made a mistake.
