Capulet could have sent him back to his father, wherever he was living, or made him join the army, or in some other way gotten rid of him after he made the brouhaha at the party. And good riddance. Tybalt spent his whole time wanting to fight someone, and eventually this would mean that Tybalt would end up on the pointy end of someone's sword.
Tybalt's death might be avoided if he and Mercutio had not engaged in a heated argument leading to their duel. Additionally, if Romeo had not intervened to prevent further violence and tried to make peace, Tybalt's death could have been prevented. Ultimately, better communication and conflict resolution could have avoided the tragic outcome.
