It depends where the hydrogen comes from.
The car itself produces no CO2 as the fuel contains no carbon.
However the car's "carbon footprint" can be traced back to the origin of the hydrogen.
Hydrogen from:
* electrolysis using nuclear, solar, wind or hydroelectric power has no carbon history * electrolysis from fossil fuel plants has a carbon burden based on the energy required per pound of hydrogen * chemical and refining processes has a carbon footprint related to the energy used in its production There is an overall CO2 burden from the production of the cars components, the fuel sales system and roads and infrastructure.
An average car produces about 7700 kg of co2 a year.
If you are referring to CO2, it depends on what make/model/engine.
Petrol cars produce CO2 as a combustion by-product, so it might be said that whatever the fastest car in the world is the fastest CO2 car. There are no cars powered by CO2 - obviously - as any chemical reaction starting with CO2 needs energy to produce another substance. There might be a car somewhere powered by compressed CO2, but this will stop moving when it runs out of pressure. Consequently the fastest CO2 car is a parked car.
The Honda Clarity cost $300,000 each, but hydrogen fuel cells are expensive to produce and some are fragile.
not very... it is not efficient to produce hydrogen as fuel
O2, CO2, NOx, HC, CO, H2O
Doesn't the driver ( and any passengers ) in the car emit CO2 as well, so you are not comparing like with like. You must compare CO2 from Car, driver and passengers with CO2 emitted by cyclist to be more accurate. You will need to divide the CO2 for car driver and passenger by number of occupants of car to get CO2 per person per journey
Hybrid cars produce less carbon dioxide because they run partially on an electric motor and partially on a gasoline engine. Therefore a hybrid will produce less CO2 than a car that relies solely on a gasoline powered engine.
None its only used when the car is moving
i dont know do the math
What is the distance used in a CO2 car competition What is the distance used in a CO2 car competition
Honda has hydrogen car. Toyota has hydrogen car. gm is working on hydrogen car.
