According to the 2005 Ford Mustang Owner Guide : The cooling system capacity is 13.6 quarts ( 12.9 liters ) So , a 50 / 50 mix of antifreeze and preferably distilled water would require : ( 6.8 quarts / 6.45 liters of antifreeze ) * Ford shows not to use less than 40 % antifreeze and not to exceed 60 % antifreeze in the cooling system mixture *

Probably just over a gallon - buy the 50/50 premix and just fill it up
On your 1997 Ford Ranger : There is a cold fill mark on the engine coolant reservoir With your engine cold you should have a 50 / 50 mix of preferably distilled water and GREEN color antifreeze ( meeting Ford specification ESE-M97B44-A ) in your engine cooling system up to the cold fill mark of the reservoir ( that's what it had in it when it came from the factory )

you should mix antifreeze half and half with clean water and fill radiator to full, then add to cold line in the overflow tank
The 3130 is the European version of the 2840, and that tractor takes 20 qts (5 gal) of coolant to fill the radiator and cooling system.
Thermostat replacementI received a quote for my 2000 Grand Prix 3.6 from the Chevrolet Dealer and it was around $300.00, for drain/fill antifreeze and removal/replacement of thermostat. I did my own for around $25.00, cost of thermostat, gasket and antifreeze. I took some short cuts and works fine just remember you have to bleed the air from the cooling system with the little screw on the top of the thermostat housing. If not the engine will over heat and you will have an air lock in the engine cooling system and it will lock-up.
pop the radiater cap off and let the van engine run for 30 minutes. this will burp out any air in the cooling system and your engine will not overheat then. afterwards, fill the radiater back up as needed.
Tap water contains minerals, which can promote corrosion of cooling system components. Therefore, it is NOT recommended that tap water be used when filling a cooling system. Manufacturers typically recommend a 50/50 mixture of distilled/deionized water and proper antifreeze.
According to the 1996 Ford Ranger Owner Guide : For the 4.0 liter V6 engine , with air conditioning : ( the engine cooling system capacity is 8.6 U.S. quarts / 8.1 liters ) It came from the factory with a 50 / 50 mix of distilled water and GREEN color antifreeze meeting Ford specification ESE-M97B44-A So , maintaining the 50 / 50 mix you would need : ( *** 4.3 U.S. quarts / 4.05 liters of antifreeze *** ) Ford states not to exceed 60 % antifreeze
