Be very careful with aspirin - it can be toxic to dogs. Never give it to a cat.
It can be toxic if given in high doses of about 30 mg (milligram) per pound of the dog. This means that even a baby aspirin could be poisonous for dogs weighing two pounds or less. An adult aspirin, which is 320 mg, would be toxic for a 10-pound dog. So even 1/2 an aspirin to too much for a 5-lb dog. and they'll live without it - don't do it.
A 5lb dog would be something like a Chihuahua or Yorkshire Terrier.
At least 1/2 cup 3 times a day maybe a little more
Dosage is by weight not age. The recommended dosage of aspirin varies a little but it is between 5 and 15mg/lb every 12 hours. Be safe and pick the middle of it and go for about 10mg/lb every 12 hours. This usually works well and seems to be pretty safe. Aspirin can cause gastrointestinal upsets and ulcers so use with caution.
5 kg = 11.0231 lb OR 11 lb and 0.36 oz
puppies can be given enteric coated aspirin preferably with some food at a dose of 5-10 mg/lb of body weight. Per the advice of my puppies vet.
It is. The problems concern the breed: if it were a 5 lb Chihuahua and a 10 lb Miniature poodle, then you should be worried. As long as both are Chihuahuas and your female shows no weight disorders, your male no obesity, it should be fine.
About 5-10 lb.
