drain the gearbox and refill with ATF the valves in the gearbox stick due to dirty ATF.

Dry fill-------------7.6 liters Drain and refill--------3.3 liters--------------ATF DII, DexronII o DexronIII
Simple, open drain plug, let ATF drain, replace plug then refill using ONLY HONDA ATF. This transmission is a 3 piece case and does not have a pan to remove, the filter is internal and not servicable... In order to change the filter the transmission must be removed and disassembled. One other word of advice, do not flush the transmission. Just drain and refill using the proper ATF. Service every 25k and your transmission will be happy. transman
you are suppossed to use honda atf you will need about 6-9 qts take drain plug out and drain fluid about 2 or 3 qts come out at a time refill trans about 3 qts start engine let run about 3 minutes . drain again refill and run again .drain and refill again and the job is finished you cannot change filter it is inside trans the filter gets replaced when trans is rebuilt
Use Dexron-III compatible fluid or genuine Nissan ATF. I just did a drain and refill on a 1995 Nissan Maxima, and I used 4 quarts of ATF (after putting the car on ramps). After doing the drain and refill, remember to drive your car around for about 5-10 minutes to fully warm up the ATF fluid, then park the car on a level surface (leave the engine on, and the A/T in park), pull out the dipstick and the level should be in-between the shaded (crosscut) HOT marker region. If your level is below the HOT region, add more. The HOT marker region has a 1 quart range. Whatever you do, do NOT overfill, as it can damage your transmission. Again, as my car was on ramps for the drain and refill, it may have drained more out then if it was level--so pay attention to the above paragraph to check the ATF level. Start by putting 3.5 quarts and see where you are at. You can always add more, but if you overfill, you'll need to remove the drain plug again.
A bone dry automatic transmission would take aprox 12 qts ATF. If you are just dropping the pan, aprox 4 qts to refill.
you'll probably need somewhere around 3 quarts. the best way is to measure the atf drained and u'll get an idea on how much of a fluid u're gonna need.. good luck
how to drain atf fluid on peugeot 607
Many automatic transmission do not have drain plugs. You drain the ATF by removing the transmission fluid pan. If you are changing the ATF, you should pull the pan anyway, to replace the ATF filter. You will also need a new pan gasket. If there is an ATF drain plug, it will be located in the transmission fluid pan, on the bottom of the transmission.
the bottom side has a drain plug, pull it out and drain it. refill as needed through the upper plug. read owners manual for fluid reference... ONLY USE HONDA ATF OR DAMAGE/SLIPPAGE WILL OCCUR!
