I wouldn't pay anything for used injectors. there is a company called Motor Man fuel injection supply they sell all types of gasoline style fuel injectors very reasonable. Cores or completely reconditioned and ready to install. They have the biggest selection of injectors listed on the web.The price list is at: www.injectors4u.com/injector_prices.htm
The average cost to clean fuel injectors is about $150. Fuel injectors are used to deliver fuel into an internal combustible engine.
This is a device that measures the pressure of the fuel that is to be delivered to the fuel injectors. This measurement is used by the engine control computer to determine how long the injectors need to be driven open to deliver a specific amount of fuel.
Depends on if it is fuel injected but if that's the case than the computer could be out on it or the injectors arent getting enough fuel to the injectors
No, 1990 1.6s are MPFI,(multi port Fuel injected) or fuel injected, and 1.5s are DPFI (dual point fuel injected) throttle body injected, they are completely different injectors, one motor has one for each cylinder, the other style has two for the whole motor, Injector cleaner can be used to clean injectors Searching for answers like this is much easier and faster from any search engine
you probbaly need new fuel injectors
In the automotive world they were the mechanical device that engines, used to control the amount of gasoline going in to mix with the air. They worked well until about 1972 when emissions controls needed to be implemented. They were phased out by Fuel Injectors in the early 1980's. One of the last cars that used one was the 1985 Mustang 302 GT. Early fuel injectors were not that good, but today Fuel Injectors are FAR superior to any carberrater.
Deisel fuel not sold to the public but used in construction equipment contains a red dye. This fuel can not be used or sold to the general public for use in their autos. Don't know if that is the answer but it could be.
Buying used injector is not recommended because no one knows the state that it's in, how much life left ect... Junk yards usually have them priced around $20.00 per injector depending on make of the car; the Chevy Cavalier are dime a dozen in the yards so finding one is very easy and relatively cheap plus you can bargin with the junk yard man if you can.
i used a small piece of wood and put it on the bottom of the injector and used a pair of channel locks to smash it out its kidda hard but you will get it dont forget to replace the o ring on all the injectors cause there is a recall on them so why dont you take it to the dealer and get them replaced for free
The computer needs to know distance traveled and fuel used. The distance is registered by the speedometer/odometer, which provides pulses to a computer. This is calibrated by the makers, to relate exactly how many pulses equals a mile. The fuel is measured by flow meters built into the fuel lines. These flow meters also provide pulses related to exactly how much fuel is passing. Modern cars all use fuel injection systems, that are controlled by a computer. The fuel to the injectors, is precisely measured by the pulses provided to the injectors. Instead of a flow meter, the pulse length can be used to measure how much fuel is being delivered. The same Engine Management Computer that runs the engine, is also used to make calulations. Combining the input from the Speedometer to calculate Miles per Gallon and the result output to the display on the dashboard.
Accelerator Position Sensor. This measures the position of the gas pedal and is used by the ECM along with the Throttle Positon Sensor to control how much fuel is delivered to the injectors, along with a couple of other things of course.
Fuel is refined, transferred, stored, and shipped. Along the way it can get contaminated. The filter is used to trap any contaminates thus preventing them from clogging fuel injectors and costing you big money. Replace your fuel filter every 50,000 miles.
