I paid $3,500 for mine.
Kelly Blue Book for a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire SE Coupe is $3,250.00 retail.
In 2002 Pontiac sold the Aztex, what might be considered a crossover, the Firebird, classic sportscar, and the Bonneville, which was a higher end four door sedan. Also available were the Grand Am and the much sportier Grand Prix, available with a supercharged V-6 engine. The Sunfire was a base-level coupe with a 2.2 liter engine, and the Montana was Pontiac's take on the mini-van.
your local automotive store ie autozone, pepboys, ect.. normally sell haynes manuals that give you step by step instructions..
There are not many Pontiac Grand Prix Richard Petty edition car that sell today. there only about 1,000 units sold in today's time.
Mine has died too. I looked around on line to see what was available. There are lots of places that will sell you an exact replacement. They run about $50. Check GOOGLE for "key fobs" FriPilot

To answer the question above, yes, Automotive Dealers still sell Pontiac made cars. They have the 2012 Firebird, along with the G6 and many others available.
You will need to contact the dealer, and pay high buck for them to enter the code. When i had mine done, i demanded the code, and they gave it to me. I wish you good luck. I don't know why, but the darned dealerships really want to put it to you for giving out this information. You can go to Ebay where there are sellers who will sell you directions on how to determine the code. They usually charge between $5 and $10 US. I did that to find out how to reprogram my key fob. The advice worked and was worth the $4 I paid for it.
I'm guessing that you have a Sunfire with a non working radio. If you're sure that it's a code problem, there are a few things you can do. One, is to take it to the dealership. They can set the code for you, but I'm told that they really put it to you ... like to the tune of about $50. Alternatively, you can check Ebay. There are guys there who will sell you directions on how to get around this. They usually get about $5 to 10 for it. For what it's worth, I bought directions on how to reset my key fob from one of these guys. It worked. FriPilot
