i dont know pis amont maybe
I think this is an opinion question. I believe the answer depends Save on one feels about the taste of cayenne, aka red pepper. If one is sensitive to hot spicy food I would hesitate to use cayenne pepper. This goes for Jalepeno, Chipotle, Habanero and other super hot peppers, spices. Bottom line to me its a matter of personal taste, opinion.
Well, using the Scoville rating (heat index) of one tablespoon of each type, it would be approximately as follows: 1 tablespoon of Jalapeno = 2500-5000 heat units 1 tablespoon of Cayenne = 30000-50000 heat units So a tablespoon of Cayenne is approximately 8-10 times hotter than the same amount of Jalapeno pepper. Since a tablespoon is equal to three teaspoons, one third of a teaspoon of Cayenne would be pretty close.
Yes, any pepper spray brand would be a substitute. Mace is just a brand name of pepper spray. There are other brands to pick from.
I know, everywhere you look the substitute for green bell peppers is red or yellow bell peppers, and vice versa. Not very helpful if you don't like them or are allergic. It depends on what you are using them in. I use pimiento if color and flavor are needed, but I don't really like pimiento. Zucchini or fresh red onion in dips, broccoli in soups or stews. I'd like additional ideas myself!
Red Pepper is the name that the American Spice Trade Association uses for all hot spices made from the ground fruit of plants that produce what we usually call "chili peppers." The generic term "Red Pepper" can apply to a lot of different varieties of pepper, or mixtures thereof. You may have noticed that different brands have a different level of spice. Some manufacturers use the term Cayenne Pepper to refer to a hotter version of that generic "Red Pepper" label. That's why you can sometimes find ground cayenne pepper in the grocery store labeled Ground Red Pepper (Cayenne) or just Cayenne Pepper.Unfortunately, the exact ingredients of a bottle of Red Pepper *or* Cayenne Pepper are going to vary by manufacturer. To be fair though, the same is true of a can of corn. Here are some other opinions from our community:Red pepper is such a loose term, it's hard to be sure what someone could mean, especially as usage varies from place to place. It often means a hot pepper such as cayenne. Paprika is also a red pepper, and in Britain, a red pepper would be a sweet red pepper.Cayenne are peppers. They are really hot and cayenne powder is ground dried cayenne pepper.Chili Powder is a mix of chili pepper powder and other spices like cumin and garlic powder and sometimes other spices like cinnamon or nutmeg (no lie). But chili powder can be really hot depending on the ratio and kind of chilies to other ingredients in the mix. Also, paprika and cayenne can be components of chili powder. Both red peppers and cayenne peppers are in the same family, but cayenne pepper is much more spicy than just red pepper.Regular red pepper is just used for culinary purposes like a Pizza seasoning.Red peppers tend to be somewhat sweeter than green peppers.Capsicum is the chemical in the hot peppers which make them hot. Capsicum is also used in topical pain creams to alleviate muscle pain. However, cayenne peppers are better known as red hot chili peppers, so they shouldn't be the exact same thing.Cayenne Pepper is the combination of many spices including red pepper and others so the difference is quite clear. But either of them are used in many recipes including continental.
Cayenne Pepper, Perhaps? Used sparingly, at least compared with the amount of chili powder you would normally used.
Cayenne pepper combined with mustard has been know to increase metabolism. Cayenne pepper has been know to raise the body temperature. Other spices include hot peppers, chili sauce cinnamon and ginger.
first you get your chicken fry it with no seasoning and no flour just chicken. then after you are done cooking the chicken put the chicken i a bowl with lemon pepper seasoning and melted butter put the top on the bowl and shack it for about 20 seconds and there you go lemon pepper chicken.
It would be all but impossible to do so and spray it in that manner. And there's no need to. Cayenne pepper, mere household food grade, will make your eyes feel bad enough. Years ago, I thought I had head lice so I tried a home remedy a friend told me about, using a sort of cayenne tea. Took it into the shower and it worked great until it got into my eyes and then my genitals. Oops. Mistake. Very unpleasant. There are peppers way hotter than what's in household cayenne.
1/8 teaspoon dry cayenne pepper is equal to one fresh cayenne pepper. Note: I tried using the dry instead of fresh. Turned out very thin. Too thin. I wouldn't recommend using powder for sauces etc.
Yes you can. you will have to grind it and add cumin and garlic (other components of chili powder). Chipotle is dried smoked chilies. Some other spices to consider for chili powder are onion powder, paprika (dried smoked peppers)[Spanish P. is made with mild peppers, Hungarian P. is made with either hot or sweet peppers], marjoram(oregano), coriander(cilantro), salt and black pepper.
yellow no it actually depends on what you make it with!
