Not very much if you switch one light off once for one day. But if you make it a habit of switching off at the wall everything that you don't need, like your TV and computer on standby, like your phone chargers, everything, then at the end of the year you will have saved up to 20% of your electricity bill.

As well as that, you will have helped in reducing the amount of carbon dioxide put into the atmosphere by electricity power plants, which are usually run by burning gas, coal and natural gas.
