You should feed your crested gecko daily. Use the crested gecko special diet mixed with water and alternate that with crickets. Mine have done very well with this. I don't recommend baby food due to it being high in sugar.

How much water do crested geckos have?

Due to the moist environment that a crested gecko comes from, they require a daily misting each and every day to ensure that their humidity levels are regulated. A crested geckos terrarium should always dry completely before spraying again. If need be, you may have to spray more than once a day if the terrarium is drying quickly. This daily misting also serves as their water source, as a crested gecko is not a good swimmer, they can drown very easily in a deep standing dish of water.

Do crested geckos camouflage to their habitat?

Crested geckos have pigments in their skin, very similar to us humans. These pigments have to ability to darken or lighten. In most cases, breeders and keepers use the term "Firing up" to explain the pigments brightening up. There are a few ways and reasons that a crested gecko will fire up. If a crested gecko has been exposed to light, they tend to fire up, this allows them to draw in as much sunlight as possible to stay warm. Another way, is when a gecko is stressed. Hunger plays a role as well. Temperature and time of day tie in with one another, When it's dark out, the cresties are active. Also during nightfall, the temperature tends to drop 5-8F and this usually indicates when its time to wake up.
