YESThe program is called the Alaska Permanent Fund. They mail out a check once a year (usually in October) to residents who plan on staying in Alaska indefinitely. And you have had to been a permanent resident for the entire year, the year before the payout. Checks on average range around $1000-$2000, although this year's was $3,269 which included aonetime $1,200 payment to help pay for higher heating costs.

You are allowed absencesfrom the state of a maximum of 180 days per year, but you must plan on returning to the state.
