The Industrial Revolution got Britain to be the most dominant country in the world during those times since it was able to industrialize first and become rich faster than other countries. This got Britain to become powerful enough to claim other lands such as India, and soon controlled most of the world until those countries wanted freedom (Gandhi for example - his hunger protests)

The Industrial Revolution had a profound impact on Britain. It transformed the country from an agrarian to an industrial society, leading to significant economic growth and urbanization. It brought about new inventions, modernized transportation, and spurred the development of factories and large-scale production. It also had social and political effects, including changes to the class structure, working conditions, and the rise of trade unions.

What was it like working as a grocer in the Industrial Revolution?

I would imagine, it didn't change much, except that the prices of the goods they are selling are going down. The industrial revolution did not have much of an effect on dead-end jobs such as a grocer, seeing as how they did not work heavy machinery, or produce goods.

What group held power in Britain before the Industrial Revolution?

Answer The Industrial Revolution was a major and rapid change in manufacturing, transport and industry in general, which began around the middle of the eighteenth century. Unlike, say the American Revolution, or other political revolutions, it did not involve any major changes in government or government power. The increase in industry did lead, much later, to the "working classes" being political, and the eventual formation of the British Labour Party.
