Its simply not really much of an option most of the time...the stock of the company being cancelled owns nothing except maybe leftover liabilities....the new owners of stock maybe in a new entity (generally creditors accepting this for some value for their secured claims) really is the fresh start BK should be. Why should the BK owners care if it is cancelled...it's already stock in a BK - meaning worthless - business. It was a bad investment.
