This is for LPNs not RNs: It depends on where you work. Hospitals tend to pay less but give you more hours, $11.00 to $18.00 an hour, usually 12 hour shifts, of course this depends on your experience and where you live. Clinics and Dr's Office tend to pay about the same, clinics have 8 to 12 hour shifts and Dr's office have 8. Home Health agencys tend to pay LPNs anywhere from $16 to $30 per pt or hour depending on the agency. Home Healthy Agencys also pay per mileage as well. You also have to look at the benefits you will receive and not just the paycheck, health insurance, dental, paid vacation time, etc. Hope this helps.
I initially asked this question and found no answer. Im being offered 65.00 a visit and was told I could expect 4-5 visits per day. And we wonder why our health care costs are so high.
That being said...Im quiting my prn job @ 33.50 working 12 shifts at night to this cream puff job...and its daytime hours!!!

No. You can take much of your coursework online, but to become a LPN you must intern under the supervision of a doctor. This is necessary as learning from a book is an entirely different world from hands on experience. The Licensed Practical Nurse requires many different hands on assessments and check-offs to make online training practical. There is no way to teach the correct way to draw blood or insert an IV through an online class.

“Hello, my name is Deborah. I am wanting to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. I live in Frankfort, KY. I need financial help, as well as, what educational institutions in my area, such as the Kentucky Community Technical College (KCTC) that offers an associate degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse, would you accept if I qualify for a Pell Grant. Classes would be on campus and on-line. I have never applied for a Pell Grant. Any information you could provide to me would be very much appreciated. Thank You, Deborah”
