I live in philadelphia, Pa and work in a nursing home on a part-time pool job and make 12.50/ hour. That is the regular rate here for nursing homes. In a hospital you can make more, depending on your experience 15-20/hour.
I work at a hospital in Utah, and the pay here for a CNA is much lower than back east. I make around $10 an hour, and that's on the high end of a starting wage. Pay generally just depends on where you live.
Depends on how many hours you work, or what shift you work. I work in North Georgia, and the pay is different. I only worked weekends and made $10.60 an hour for 24 hours. If I worked through the week it was less ($8.00). So it really depends, but I can say they DO NOT make nearly as much as they deserve. It is hard work, but very very rewarding.
A CNA will make the best money in a few Northeastern states and others. These vary somewhat in average wage per hour. The states are as follows:
1. Alaska $14.362. New York $13.63
3. Connecticut $13.54
4. Massachusetts $12.77
5. Hawaii $12.53
6. District of Columbia $12.47
7. Maryland $12.47
8. Delaware $12.32
9. New Hampshire $12.24
10. Nevada $12.23
I work as a CNA in Wisconsin. I started last fall at 9.49/hr and this January I was given a raise and now earn 10.33/hr.
