The answer to this question totally depends on the type of chicken you are concerned about. The bantam chickens may weigh less than a pound at 7 weeks. Then there are the Giants, the egg layers, the dual purpose and the broilers. A commercial broiler will weight a good 4 pounds or so at 7 weeks of age.
