I work for a cat only vet. I estimate that for me, even with my 25% discount, each of my cat's cost an average of $600.00 per year (if they are healthy). As they age the cost increases with the need for bloodwork and dentals. The cost of the dental alone with extractions can be up to $1,000.

Lots of factor go into the cost of owning a cat or any other pet. At the least, you should consider the size of the cat, annual shots, food (wet, dry, or both), cat litter, toys, and any unforeseen veterinary bills.

This really depends on the type of cat food, litter, and how often your cat needs to go to the vet. I would advice buying a premium cat food, a bit more expensive, but way better on your cat's healthy. Also put away 15 -20 per month for both regular and emergency vet bills. I would say around $60 per month, however, this is a very general number, it could be a but less or a but before, depending on the factors above. Don't go cheap on cat food, and you want a good litter that helps reduce odor.you can be creative with other things, buy a couple of cat toys on sale and make a couple of your own, buy or make a scratching posts and learn how to safely clip your cat's nails at home.

Prices will vary depending on where you are, of course. Cats eat very little, so a 3-pound (1.5kg) bag of dry cat food should last about four weeks for a single adult cat. If a 3-pound bag costs $15, a year's worth of food will cost about $180 - $195, as you will need 12 to 13 bags. Note that like any other creature, cats will overeat given the chance; an adult cat should get about a quarter cup of dry cat food a day, possibly split between a morning and an evening meal. Kitten food is more expensive, as it must have more nutrients for its weight and volume.

if your cat is not spayed or neutered, then you will have to make a one time payment $120.00 aprox. then dry or wet food, a good quality aprox. 10.00 for the month, also some treats, $ 3.00 per month, kitty litter aprox. $7.00 per month so this depends on where you live, count on at least $20.00 per month, a few toys a year so including a yearly visit to a vet, the total for 1 full year count on $350.00, not cheap but well worth having a cat that will love you when it suits the darling! ( trust me on this!!)

A great deal will depend on what you feed them. A large can of cat food a day would cost about a dollar a day, fed half a can twice a day. And you need a litter box and litter, unless you let them outside to do their business.
