$1.24 Billion is the latest for one of the largest cruise ships(The Oasis of the seas).

It depends on the size of the ship and when it was built.

2007: Carnival ship to enter service is the 110,000 gross ton (GT) Carnival Freedom which cost $500,000,000

2008: The next Carnival ship that will enter service is the Carnival Splendor, which will begin sailing later this year. It is 113,000 GT and will cost about 475,000,000 Euros (about $697,000,000)

2004:The 86,000 GT Carnival Miracle cost $375,000,000.

2000:The 101,500 GT Carnival Victory cost $410,000,000 in

Carnival owns Cunard. The 70,000 GT Queen Elizabeth 2 cost 29 million pounds in 1969 (that is about $56,630,000 - the QE2 was recently sold for $100,000,000).

The 148,500 GT Queen Mary 2 cost $800,000,000 in 2004.

The 90,000 GT Queen Victoria cost $390,000,000 in 2007.

Royal Caribbean's 158,000 GT Liberty of the Seas cost $590,000,000 in 2007.

The 90,000 GT Jewel of the Seas cost $350,000,000 in 2004.

The Independence of the Seas will begin sailing later this year. It is 158,000 GT and will cost about $828,000,000.

And oh yeah who can forget the Titanic, it was cost 7.5 million dollars back in 1912
