Just got my quoted today (7-Feb-11). I have a 2004 325i with 93000 miles, transmission broke yesterday :-(. According to my mechanic, for a new BMW transmission it's about $5,000 and can be upto $6,000 including labor. However, the mechanic bought a crashed BMW last month with a year old transmission that he will replace for me for $2880. Hopefully, this new transmission will last me another 93K miles.
