However, I did a ton of advanced training with various skincare companies and I also worked with dermatologists and plastic surgeons in their practices. When you get your cosmetology license you are getting a small amount of education in hair, nails, and skin. You are only going to school for a short period of time so you are truly only learning the basics. If specializing in skincare is a person's primary goal, they are better off going to an aesthetics school that specializes in teaching the students about skincare. If the state you live in doesn't offer the option of going to an aesthetics school then it is very important to take as much advance training as possible in skincare. I recommend purchasing an aesthetics text book as well from Milady.
