Most General Motors built cars are now using the PK3 Transponder key.
Hi, from all I've read about it on the net, (and in my 2003 Olds Silhouette owner's manual) you cannot program the PK3 key yourself UNLESS you have at least one already programmed PK3 (master) key. You must go to your dealer if you don't have at least one programmed (original) PK3 key,..they have the special equipment to do it.
Yes the key is chipped. You need a pk3 key. You can get them from eBay for around $15 uncut.
If you want to program a new PK3 Key, there is a procedure at the bottom of the linked page.Take Care,Greg
the 1999 venture has the PK3 system for security, so you have to go to a GM dealer or a automotive locksmith that has the proper box to reset it or make a new master key for it.
General Motors PK3*, PK3+*, and Circle Plus* keys can be programmed without an original key present (but the new key has to be cut correctly to turn your ignition!)The Procedure for this is:1. Insert a new cut key in ignition and turn key to the ON position for10 minutes (or until the security light goes out).2. Within 45 seconds turn the key to OFF and then back to the ON position for10 minutes (or until the security light goes out).3. Within 45 seconds turn the key to OFF and then back to the ON position for10 minutes (or until the security light goes out).4. Turn key OFF then back ON. The key is now programmed.Start vehicle to test key.** Note: To tell if your General Motors keys are the ones listed above, it will be stamped on the blade of the key just below the plastic head. (The 'circle plus' is actually a circle with a '+' sign in the middle of it)
It could be the key if the security or anti-theft light is flashing. If it is flashing than either the key is not sending a signal or the lock cylinder PK3 receiver is not receiving a signal.
The belt is a PK3 & its 925mm long.
Mods are usually contained within a .pk3 file. This file should not be expanded, but placed into your base Jedi Knight II/Gamedata/Base folder. If the file is not a .pk3 file, but a folder containing other files, then this folder should be placed in your Jedi Knight II/Gamedata folder, but the Base folder.
look at your keys, does it say PK3 or anything of the liking on it? if so you have a passkey system. Otherwise if you are just looking for a security light, check above the reset odometer button. its dull but you can see the cut out. mine does not turn on at anytime with the car running or not. Your results may vary.

To add a new multiplayer model to JKA/JK3, simply drag & drop the PK3 file into your GameData/Base folder.
