What is the problem with the gauge? We had a problem with my wife's 1997 Malibu fuel gauge following a trip to the mechanic, where the needle was stuck below the resting pin, therefore the gauge no longer worked properly. We thought it would need to be replaced, or a major tear out of the dash to fix. After some researching on the internet, the problem was easily solved by flipping the needle around manually, using a bent paper clip through the hole in the dash. It was a 5 min. fix.
