In 1992, the average yearly AFDC family payment was $4,572, and food stamps for a family of three averaged $2,469, for a total of $7,041. So, to divide that up into 12 months would be about $586 a month.

I think it depends on if you have kids, ect. So it's probably not a flat rate for everyone.
