No Real Need To KnowDrain and flush the system. Replace the thermostat. purchase 1 gallon of antifreeze and 1 gallon of distilled water. Mix then together in a 50/50 mix. Now just fill the system until it is full. Start the engine with the cap off and allow all air to escape. If it is equipped with bleeder valves, then bleed the system with these valves. Save what is left to top off the system later on.

Including the reserve tank 1 gallon should be just right. It will take about 3/4 to 4/5 of a gallon to fill up the radiator itself.
