An average song uses between 3 and 5 MB (megabytes) depending on the length of the song and the amount of compression used. Roughly 250 songs = 1 Gigabyte.

I did this to my iPod Touch, but I'm pretty sure it's the same with the nano. What happened was iTunes had me restore the software, basically go back to factory settings. What happens when you do that is you lose all your songs, photos, videos, etc. The iPod will be like new, so you will have to download all your stuff back to it. I would rather have a nano . I'd rather have a nano because its better and it doesn't have a hard drive like a touch does (if you drop an Ipod touch there's a high risk of it braking). if you were to have a shuffle its too small and easyer to lose. i don't like the shuffle because it cant play videos and it doesn't even have a screen. Nanos are thin and you can do fun things with it and its not to big and bulky. but if you like an ipod for running i would get the shuffle because you can just clip it on to your clothing and makes things a lot easier then putting it in a case. if you like ipods with video and not that easy to break i would get the nano. they're fun just to have! if you want to be mr. flashy i would get the touch. also if your a youtube fanatic. in conclusion id rather have the nano I would rather have a touch. It has a big screen (its actually mostly screen) and you can touch your music. YOU CAN ACTUALLY FEEL YOUR MUSIC. And watch movies and youtube videos. There are ENDLESS POSSIBLITIES to this contraption. So, in conclusion, the iPod touch is way better than a nano or a shuffle.
