Last time i checked, it was 150 on the ones with single exhaust, and 190 on the ones with dual exhaust...namely the ones with the 5.8 and police package. 351-cubic-inch V-8s with 240 and 285 horsepower. http://www.panteraplace.com/page3.html 150 h.p. sounds a little weak. The H.O. 302 had 225, so the EFI should be more like 180 to 190
There are H.O. 302's that are E.F.I. you all need to get your facts straight
The 1989 4.6 281 engine has 205 horse power. Which is low HP for a V8 because it's a very small block. It had massive heads that made it look like a larger engine. It had a lot of torque. Later models had the PI heads. Some put these PI heads on the 86-89 engines that had different pistons than the later models and that combination along with intake porting could put more than 400 hp at the rear wheels. A cheap easy upgrade. There were no boxes in 1989 with 4.6l engines! Either 5.0 302 cid Windsor or 5.8 351 HO The 5.0 engine (single exhaust) has 110 kW = 147.45 hp Remember that hp isn't the most important thing in a car +++ (torque is more important).
5.0 non HO is about 155 HP. HO version vary from 200 to 290 HP.
