Servicemen returning home from Vietnam were often given a "dirty look" of disguist, or had a "smart remark" made to them. Many returning veterans would NOT tell people that they were veterans of the Vietnam War.
It can be inferred that the housekeeper at Netherfield had received instructions from her master to make arrangements for his arrival, indicating a level of authority and hierarchy within the household. Her role would likely involve overseeing the preparation of the house to ensure it was ready for her master's arrival.

Yes, if your brother can prove that jungle rot has caused him a disability from being able to earn in income, and if he can prove that this jungle rot originated from the Vietnam War, he would be eligible to receive disability benefits from the VA.
Because the princial payments are your simply returning the money you borrowed. WHEN YOU BORROWED THE MONEY, IT WAS NOT TAXABLE INCOME, RETURNING IT THEN CANNOT BE TAX DEDUCTIBLE. (Or every year I would borrow an amount say equal to my taxable income from all sources from someone/thing (bank, brother, friend who I lend the same amount to at the same time), and pay it back the next day...creating a deduction, and eliminate all my taxable income from all other sources).

Well, you can either go to the Vietnam embassy in Bangkok (you can look up the address on the internet) and apply for one. The fee is pretty high and you need to wait a couple of weeks (I'm not sure exactly how long). Or, an easier way is to apply for vietnam visa on arrival at airports of Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city or Danang city) which means you apply for your visa via the internet and pick the visa up at the Vietnam airport. This way is more convenient, faster and cheaper. The service fee is around 22 USD give or take and then when you pick up your visa at the airport you need another 25 USD/pp for stamping fee of single entry visa or 50USD/pp for stamping fee of multiple entry visa.
Feared that Vietnam would vote for a Communist government.
