I have a gold necklace stamped 926 italy, is this real gold or silver?
HOW MUCH IS IT WORTH
The hallmark of 926 would indicate 92.6% silver, not gold.
As .916 is used in Britain when referring to 22K gold, .926 is the Hallmark used in Italy when referring to the purity of the gold or Karat. And I believe it is yellow gold which also contains copper and silver (conbined account for the remaining 7.4 percent of the karat weight) to give it the yellow coloring.
This simply means it is a higher purity of silver(less copper) than .925
926 is the purity of the metal (in parts per thousand) Italy is the country of manufacture.
How much is 926 worth
The 926 on jewelry means yellow 22 karat gold. The number indicates the grade of gold on the scale of 1 to 1000. In most cases gold is alloyed with other metals.
On jewelry the 926 stamp typically means the piece of jewelry is made from 22 karat gold. This stamp is usually found on Italian made pieces of jewelry.
most likely it says 925 or .925 denoting the amount of silver in the jewelry. 925 means sterling silver while 999 means fine silver or 99% pure.
926%
926 = 1 x 926, 2 x 463.
