There is no such thing as an Eisenhower half dollar, only an Eisenhower dollar coin.
The coin is a Eisenhower dollar, not a Liberty dollar and none of the Eisenhower dollars struck for general circulation have more than face value. Only proof, uncirculated and collectors coins sold from the Mint have premiums.
Sorry no US one dollar GOLD coins dated 1972. A 1972 one dollar coin is a Eisenhower dollar. None were struck in gold. Many have been privately plated with small amounts of gold and sold as collectibles but are actually only worth a dollar.

Eisenhower dollar coins were not struck until 1971, if you look at the back of the coin you will see the words HALF DOLLAR. The coin is a Franklin Half dollar and is valued at $4.50
The bicentennial dollar is a common coin, still worth one dollar.
Peace dollars were only struck from the end of 1921 until 1935. If your coin is dated 1972 it's an Eisenhower dollar and it's made of copper-nickel, not silver, and is only worth face value.
This would be the 1972 Silver Eisenhower dollar variety from the San Francisco Mint. In uncirculated condition, it would be worth about $8 and if you have a Proof coin, it would be worth about $9.30.

Eisenhower was on the one dollar coin, and it's worth one dollar.
Eisenhower was on the DOLLAR coin in the 1970s. KENNEDY has been on the half dollar since 1964. A 1985 Kennedy half is still worth 50 cents.
The coin is only face value, has no silver and is still in circulation.
