how much for a Chevy caprice throttle body cost? 5.7
To be sure you need to tested on a DYNO.
ok more air flow....did you change to a larger throttle body?
No, an aftermarket intake like K&N or Airaid will make your Trac run better. If the engine can breathe better it will run better. Get the better intake, and get a better exhaust. The truck will run much better.
A throttle positioning sensor reads your throttle body to see how much your pressing the gas basicly. So if its bad the engine runs up and down not knowing exactly how much peddle is being pushed.
170 to 190 for throttle body injected
190 to 210
there should be an idle posiotion control on side of throttle body doesn't cost much
Anywhere from 160 to 205 HP.
The IAC is a small motor on the throttle body that screws a giant needle valve ("pintle") up and down. It regulates how much air is allowed to bypass the closed throttle plate, thereby controlling the idle speed. It moves up for example when you turn the a/c on, to kick it from the usual 900 to 1100 rpms. It's movement is controlled by the PCM (powertrain control module), to maintain the desired idle speed. There is not much to the throttle body... the throttle plate itself, the IAC motor (idle air control), attachments for vacuum lines, and a TP (throttle position) sensor to tell the computer what percentage the throttle is open.
nothing. the cost is the thing you do after spacers.
It will add horsepower for sure , and you will feel the difference if your a good driver and know your car well . The increase depends on the engine situation and the car model too, on v8's it will usually increase from 5 to 20 hp and you can hit the 20 easily if you reprogrammed your computer , without reprogramming the gains will be from 5-15.
