It depends on where you are going, what airlines you aare going on and if you are going alone or with a group. Group rates are cheaper. I went to Kenya in April and the cost was nearly $2000 and that was including 10 days with room and one week with food. It was aChurch group though.
So if you hunt around or get a good travel place you can probably get reasonable tickets, but you will need a car or some mode of travel and food and other expenses. Africa is a beautiful Country nad the people are great!
