We had to buy a new Power Steering pump for my 2000 Windstar SEL two days ago. We spent $49 + tax for the new one and the core charge was $59 + tax (which of course we got back when we dropped off the old one). Overall not too difficult to replace, easy to get to, and not too pricey of a part.
FYI: IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE POWER STEERING WHEEL PULLER TO TAKE THE PULLEY OFF THE OLD PUMP AND INSTALL IT ON THE NEW PUMP, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REMOVE IT WITHOUT CRACKING/BREAKING THE PULLEY. WE RENTED THIS TOOL FOR $45 ANS RECEIVED THE ENTIRE DEPOSIT BACK WHEN WE DROPPED IT OFF AFTER THE REPAIR WAS DONE.
