I live in Brooklyn ny I know that its free n the other 4 boroughs also,go to your nearest local public library and ask for a GED application,and testing dates list. Fill out the application,and mail it to the test center you want to take the test they'll send u a postcard with your name on it. Even if you don't pass the first time the test will still be free everytime you take it,The test is absolutely free. I hope this answer you guys questions,I had to find out for myself with no help. ∙ 14y agoThe New Jersey GED test requires a payment in the form of a check, in the amount of $25.00, made out to"Commissioner of Education". You will also need to bring two form ofID. One must be a government issued ID and the other a document verifying the government issued document, which must include name/address.
