Grand Funk Railroad Members claimed that Terry Knight had ripped them off in a major fashion, thus taking most of their profits and money from the first 4 or 5 albums on Capitaol Records, plus concert revenues from the first 3 years. GFR produced themselves after Knight, then hired Todd Rundgren to produce," We're An American Band" , which went Gold and to #1. The Locomotion went to #1 , subsequently, and GFR was doing the best of their carreer. They survived Terry Knight, and he fell into obscurity, never to find another GFR to make money from.
