Daycare Pay EstimationDaycare is a completely relative profession. It may pay little or a lot. Most of the amount that daycare pays depends on location of the daycare. In northern California daycare for employees pays around $8.00 to $8.50 per hour. Daycare owners may charge an amount of $18 per day for one child or up to $31 per day for one child. There are many other factors here as well. Ultimately if the daycare provider were to have an average monthly gross income it would be around $5000 to $9000 per month. This estimate includes food assistance programs money earned for the month.

I make about 9.00 an hour in central PA and I have been there for about two years, BS degree and no benefits. I get to spend everyday with my son.

It varies how much a daycare provider makes. Some charge $17 a day per child others charge $30 a day per child. It is up to you how much you want to charge people. Your running it. But if you don't have a good qaulity daycare no one will want to pay you $30 a day. Don't get into daycare for the money. You have to have a ton of patience and lots of love and interest in children. If you don't have that you won't make it. Trust me, running a daycare is hard and the money is not good. You have to love it. There is no set pay it is all up to you because it is your business. If you love children, want to make a fair wage and don't want to commit to a ton of work you are better off buying a children's gym where the caregivers attend and watch their own children and you simply provide the fun.

The income from a daycare can vary depending on many things. The amount of children, the price being charged to parents/ caregivers, any overhead, and expenses are all taken into account when trying to determine how profitable a daycare is.

Regretably, most day care workers make minimum wage, or just above minimum wage. It helps if you can find a publicly funded child care center.
