A byte is a standard "block" of data bits that was introduced by IBM and other manufacturers to store one "character" or "symbol" or some other standardized piece of data. A "bit" is the short name for a "binary digit" that can have only two values: 0 or 1.

1 byte is usually defined as 8 bits.

1024 bytes = 1 kilobyte

1024 kilobytes = 1 megabyte

1024 megabytes = 1 gigabyte Note:

All the above definitions have long been in common everyday usage within the computer industry.

im not sure but a 2 gig cost about 4$ so im gonna say about 2$

You need to take in consideration as to what you mean 1 gig of valueble data it could be very expencive to loose,then 1 gig of ddr ddr2 ddr3 computer memory can be from $40-$$70,then if you are talking about 1 gig camera memory it can be $10-$25.I hope that helps.
