It depends on what make and model the mower is. Generally, most consumer mowers use the same key which is available at hardware stores. If it is a Craftsman you can get it at Sears.
Mine is built into the ignition switch. After you crank it turn the key back to the left slightly.
Not on a push mower that has no electric start. On a riding mower, yes there is an ignition key.
Usually a dead short in the wiring some where : check for cracks in wires ,key gone to ground, exctra exc.....
You probably forgot to put the shear rivets, bolt, key back in depending on the make and model of your lawn mower or you have stripped the bolt.
One of the most common reasons for a lawn mower not to start is that it is out of gas. Another reason is that the "key" has been broken. This key is designed to break if the mower hits a hard object.
sheared flywheel key. youtube has vids... type in mower cord backfires & you'll see instructions on how to fix it.
Pull start only
If the battery is not dead, then you probably have a loose/broken wire either at the switch or at the starter solenoid/relay switch.
Is this even a real question? Seriously, man. What does your mower run on? Hopes and dreams?
supposedly, when you turn the key on it should "click" if it doesnt, not working.try turning the key off+on a few times to hear or feel a "click"
