The oil filter usually hold 1/2 to 3/4 quart of oil. Not changing the filter is a very poor decision. You save a few bucks and may end up paying for engine damage. Change the Oil & Filter every 5,000 miles.

You can reset the air conditioning filter light by changing the air conditioning filter. If the light stays on remove the fuse for 10 seconds. Put the fuse back in and the light should stay off.

If you had the mechanic to do the oil change, probably it was not changed. If you did the change, then did you change within a few minutes of changing off the engine. Sometimes when the old filter was in the engine for years, then a lot of old oil did not completely drain to the oil pan. Enough old oil was actually still inside under the valve cover and was still slowly draining down into the oil pan. I have the same problem once. "Sometime mechanic"
