Global Warming is taking place right now.
First, the pump is open to the inside of the cell. It naturally "likes"* the sodium (and "dislikes" potassium) so it attracts sodium ions. An ATP molecule then gives one of its phosphate groups to the pump, causing the pump to change. That ATP molecule is now and ADP molecule. With the addition of the phosphate group, the pump now "dislikes" sodium and "likes" potassium. So it closes and reopens to the outside of the cell, releasing the sodium. It attracts potassium ions. Next, the pump gives its phosphate group back to the ADP molecule. That ADP molecule is now an ATP molecule again. Without the phosphate group, the pump "likes" sodium and "dislikes" potassium again. So it closes and reopens to the inside of the cell, releasing the potassium into the cell. The pump now attracts sodium ions. The cycle starts again. For every three sodium ions released, two potassium ions enter. *"Likes" or "dislikes" refer the pump having a higher or lower affinity (attraction) for one of the two elements. To answer your question, the ATP molecule is the source and the receiver of the phosphate group, which changes whether the pump "likes" sodium or potassium.
Outside a neuron, there are mostly sodium ions but some potassium ions. Inside the neuron, there are only potassium ions. Since both sodium and potassium are positive ions, and they are in a higher concentration outside the cell, that makes the outside have a more positive charge than the inside. But for all intents and purposes, the outside is positive, and the inside is negative. When the sodium ions (Na+) rush into the cell during depolarization, it causes the concentration of positive ions inside the cell to go WAY up, making the inside more positive than the outside. This means that the outside is now negative and the inside now positive.
Me too!
Taking the train back in the 80s is much nicer than taking the train than now!In the 80s,the trains were not so sardined packed like now. reason?ans:overpopulation.
I took Enalopril and mixed with alcohol for years and it didn't seem to adversely affect me anymore than the alcohol itself would (hangover..etc..). I have recently been switched to Lotrel, but I haven't had any alcohol with it...yet... From what I have read, alcohol doesn't mix well with ANY medication. It can increase side effects and can hinder the positive effects of the medication. My understanding is that Lotrel is stronger than most BP medications, so I plan to drink cautiously. I usually consume a large amount of alcohol on weekends, mostly vodka, but I need to cut down now.
Potassium is more apt to affect the heart. Potassium (K+) controls how the heart beats, and how strongly, among other things. If he passed out, it was likely due to the effect of Potassium on his heart. Excess potassium can kill because it puts the heart into an unnatural rhythm. The hospital should have initiated life-saving measures if they were told about the overdose. Also, he should receive psychological counseling as soon as possible as this should certainly be considered a suicide attempt. It's been over 15 days--I hope he is doing better now.

If you are taking Phenobarbital and you are now taking fiorcet can a urine screen detect the fiorcet?
Yes, potassium is a metal. But the real question is what makes it a metal. Now that's something to think about. Potassium is also very reactive with oxygen, mainly water. do not try it but placing potassium in a tank water can make the tank of water blow up

I'm taking percocet 10's right now, and I can't get hard. I think its cause its lowers your blood pressure and relaxs and numbs you too much
