If it is just the pads, it shouldn't cost over $100 at a shop. If you need new rotors it could go up around $75 per side for a shop to do it. This job is very easy to do. If you have a large c clamp, 14mm socket and the patience to learn, you can do it yourself.

When changing all of the brake shoes on an Echo, take one pair off of one wheel. Open the new box of shoes. Physically match the proper new ones up to find the ones that go on the front wheels.
If you mean a brake pad - its an easy job that costs about $15-$30 to do yourself, or you can pay someone $100 to do it for you.

To replace your brake light, you need to unscrew the brake cover from the inside of the trunk. Then you will be able to pull the old bulb out and replace it.
