it all depends on where you get it done, at the GM dealer it can be over a grand. I bought one off of eBay and did it in my garage and it cost me $150. Most shops should be able to do it for around $600.
The thermostat is located on a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero in the thermostat housing. The thermostat housing is located on the rear side of the engine block.
