This depends on your lifestyle and time availability. I think you should walk everywhere when possible. I personally walk home from school everyday and would say that I walk about 3 miles per day. If you are not an active person, I would start slow by walking around the block after dinner, and eventually walking more and more. For an average person, 2 miles per day will definitely keep the doctor away. Also, drinking water is necessary to staying healthy and making best use out of your walks. I would say 5-6 bottles of water will do you good. I wouldn't drink more than 8-9 bottles in one day, though.
