Chances are if you tell your agent, your policy will be cancelled.
Yes. A group policy is not much different from an individual policy when it comes to cancellations. If the group misses payments or no longer meets the underwriting guidelines the policy can be cancelled or non renewed per local regulations and contract terms.

They shouldn't cancel your plan I was in an accident when I was 16 and we kept the same insurance. As for how much it goes up depends on which insurance company you have.

NO, It will not be any cheaper and the fathers Insurance will skyrocket and the father could even find his own policy cancelled. Best to just get a separate policy, It's gonna be high either way. It's probably not a very good idea to drag the father and his insurance into the situation
The owner of the policy is the only person who can surrender a life insurance policy. Most of the time the insured is the owner but not always. You might want to speak with a tax professional before cashing in the policy as income taxes will be due on benefits but if the policy pays out at death it is tax free. Unless the policy is very very old the death benefit may be much higher than it says on the policy if there is that much cash in it. Check with the company before making decisions.
I've heard it cost too much money
