unbolt it, take the belt off, take the wires off the alternator and replace with new alternator.

the regulator is inside the alternator and yes you can take the alternator apart and just replace the regulator.
well first disconnect the battery, then remove the belt by using a pull bar at the pulley to release the tension of the belt to take off the belt, then unplug the wire harness that's plugged into the alternator then remove the 3 bolts from the alternator.
