It depends on damage, I have used exhaust repair kits from AutoZone. I've got 2 of them. First one is, metal based fix which solidifies when it drys and becomes as hard as metal. Then on top of it put special exhaust bandage just to make sure that if I have missed anything it will be sealed too.
