Unless you're very sedentary, 1000 calories a day is not enough. Your body will hang on to fat if you don't eat enough calories. Also, your metabolism will slow significantly resulting is less weight loss.

1300-1500 is the range you will want combined with some form of cardio exercise and some strength training.

Drink lots of water.

You can hope to lose about 1.5 lbs a week if you stick to this.
